Elmwood Inn Fine Teas Designs The Shaker Village Blend

Shaker TeaThe 2,000 acre restored Shaker Village lies just up the road from Elmwood Inn Fine Teas. This beautiful National Landmark is one of Kentucky's historical gems. Bruce Richardson discovered a wooden tea box with "Gunpowder China Green Tea" stenciled on it in one of the 1820 era buildings. The Shakers were fantastic herbalists and the kitchen gardens always included peppermint.  With those two bits of information, Bruce Richardson blended a Gunpowder Green Tea and Peppermint tea bag that was introduced in early August.  The beautiful labels have the Shaker Tree of Life image.

It is available to our retailers across the country or you may buy it online.

The National Archives Turns to Elmwood Inn Fine Teas

The National Archives Tea

Elmwood Inn Fine Teas has produced a private label tea commemorating one of the pivotal events in the colonies' struggle for independence. The project was commissioned by the Gift Shop at The National Archives in Washington, DC. The home of our nation's most treasured documents requested one of the teas thrown overboard in Boston Harbor.

We researched the invoice from the event, created the custom label (complete with historical engraving), and filled the tins with a historically-correct Chinese green tea named Hyson. The story of the tea and the rebellious event is included on the label. Purchase online now.

Decaffeinating Your Tea at Home Turns out to be a Myth!

Asbury College Lab

The idea that you could remove 80% of the caffeine from your tea simply by tossing away the first 30-second infusion has been debunked.

Asbury College with the assistance of Elmwood Inn Fine Teas has just completed a study of eight common loose leaf teas.  The evidence shows that it would take about six minutes to extract 80% of the caffeine.  Read the full story online...
