Benjamin Press Acquires Dorothea Johnson's Tea & Etiquette®

Benjamin Press and Elmwood Inn Fine Teas has purchased the rights to Dorothea Johnson's ten part manual, Tea & Etiquette® as well as her classic book, Tea & Etiquette – Taking Tea for Business and Pleasure.

Dorothea Johnson, Founder of the Protocol School of WashingtonJohnson is the founder of The Protocol School of Washington and resident etiquette advisor for the Ellen television show. She is the author of four books and writes the Tea & Etiquette column for TeaTime magazine. She has been named Woman of the Year by both Victoria and Southern Lady magazines. Benjamin Press is the publisher of her best-selling Children's Tea & Etiquette book, released in 2006.

"Bruce and Shelley Richardson, along with their staff are true Tea Diplomats, Johnson said. "I am proud and honored that, because of our decade-old friendship, the legacy of Tea & Etiquette will continue for years to come."

The Tea and Etiquette book is being redesigned, updated and illustrated for fall release.  You may pre-order it via our online store.

The tea portion of the Tea & Etiquette manual has been updated by Bruce Richardson. It's a great resource for tea room owners, speakers, and etiquette consultants. The workbook includes scripts, handouts, and instructions on how to teach your audience basic dining and etiquette skills. There are ten themed programs such as Business Tea and Etiquette, Mother-Daughter Tea & Etiquette, and Teddy Bear Tea & Etiquette. The National Archives Turns to Elmwood Inn Fine Teas

The National Archives Tea

Elmwood Inn Fine Teas has produced a private label tea commemorating one of the pivotal events in the colonies' struggle for independence. The project was commissioned by the Gift Shop at The National Archives in Washington, DC. The home of our nation's most treasured documents requested one of the teas thrown overboard in Boston Harbor.

We researched the invoice from the event, created the custom label (complete with historical engraving), and filled the tins with a historically-correct Chinese green tea named Hyson. The story of the tea and the rebellious event is included on the label. Available only through the National Archives Gift Shop at 202-357-5271.

Learn how your business can benefit from our private labelling program by visiting our wholesale page.

Lake Agnes Teahouse

Bruce and Shelley Richardson enjoy tea at the Lake Agnes Teahouse.

Bruce and Shelley Richardson spent time recently in the Canadian Rockies photographing tea rooms for TeaTime magazine and the 2008 edition of Great Tea Rooms of America. They hiked through a light snow to the Lake Agnes Teahouse, located 1200 feet above Lake Louise.  With no electricity or modern coveniences, this pristine setting gives a new meaning to "high tea!"  Read Bruce's six-page photo story in the May/June edition of TeaTime.

Bruce Richardson was the guest speaker for a recent Jane Austen Birthday Celebration sponsored by the Kentucky chapter of The Jane Austen Society. See the Kentucky Education Television Online Video.

Fresh Cup magazine
