Premium green teaOrigin:
Shizuoka, JapanThe stems for our Kukicha come from premium-quality Shizuoka Prefecture tea leaves picked in the early spring, which are then deep steamed. This results in a very light, refreshing Japanese green tea that tastes slightly sweet and nutty. Kukicha hardly ever tastes bitter, even when brewed more than once. Its caffeine content is lower than that of most other green teas.
Grown in the shadow of Mt. Fuji, south of Tokyo, we visited this Organic Garden in 2023.
Steep like a tea professional, and never use boiling water on green tea. The optimal temperature is 165-175F.

I like to keep 4-6 green teas from Elmwood in my cupboard. Kukicha was a new one to try. It's got a nice flavor profile. I'm not the expert Bruce is (who is?!) but it has a very gentle, slightly grassy flavor to it. Like all of them, I brew two pots each morning. The second steeping is always darker with all of them, and the Kukicha was no exception. BUT, it was still subtle.
I feel so calm and lightly buzzed after drinking. The taste is so good. I love this !!
