Hanzhou, China, Linan Tian Mu Shan Tea GardenLong Jing (Lung Ching) usually ranks #1 on the 10 Famous Chinese Tea lists. This spring harvest tea originates in the Linan Tian Mu Shan Tea Garden, outside Hangzhou in the West Lake District. Elmwood owner Bruce Richardson spent a week in those gardens in 2018.
Top-grade Long Jing tea processing is almost entirely done in a thick iron pan where green leaves are pressed flat by hand. The seemingly simple process is a very intricate and challenging work of art. The result is a characteristic, medium-body tea with a lingering mellow taste.
According to the FDA, Consuming Just Two Cups of Black or Green Tea Daily Reduces the Risk of Heart Disease and Diabetes.
I've been drinking the "regular" Lung Ching for a number of years and thought I'd try this Grade AA Organic version. Though similar in overall taste, I must say there are some delicate floral notes in this AA version that will definitely make me order again. Beautiful flavor!
